Carib Beer was officially launched in September 1950 by the Caribbean Development Company (CDC) in Trinidad and Tobago. Founded by Sir Gerald Wight in 1947, the brewery was established to diversify the region’s post-World War II economy away from a heavy reliance on sugar and oil. Carib quickly evolved from a local favorite into a dominant cultural symbol and the most widely recognized beer across the Caribbean.
